Remembrance Objective

What's New

The Remembrance objectives are three fold:
  • Create awareness of the historic injustices and human rights violations suffered by Palestinians in 1948 and 1967.
  • Document and commemorate the first-hand account of Palestinian-Canadians whose lives and communities were devastated in 1948 Catastrophe (Nakba).
  • Engage younger generation of Palestinian-Canadians to explore, document and celebrate their family story.
The Remembrance task force is currently working to develop a 1 hour documentary entitled “Remembering 1948….A Shattered Childhood”. It will highlight the story of four Palestinians now living in Canada as they reconstruct the historic days in 1948 when their young lives were changed forever. These articulate, passionate Canadians of Palestinian origin, now in their 70’s and 80’s, have been hungry to tell their tale for decades, but no one was listening.
