CJPME’s Positions

Positions and Policies | Factsheets and Documents | Training Resources

CJPME's positions are all based on three policy pillars as follows:
  1. Support for international law
  2. Equal expectations of all parties in the Middle East
  3. The belief that violence is never a solution
It is our conclusion that a durable and sustainable peace in the Middle East cannot be realized until justice for Palestinians has been achieved. At a minimum, justice for Palestinians means:
  • The right to security, freedom and full citizenship in a sovereign state with viable, contiguous borders, and control of all natural resources.
  • The right of return and compensation for refugees.
  • Full and equal rights for Palestinians who are citizens or residents of other sovereign nations.
  • Respect for International law in all Middle Eastern countries.
We believe that it is our duty as Canadian citizens to ensure that our government lives up to its legal and moral responsibilities in upholding human rights and humanitarian law both in Canada and internationally.
