Policy Advocacy – Training
Objectives | Riding GroupsPolicy Advocacy with Lawmakers
CJPME typically conducts two delegations to Ottawa annually, meeting with a large number of MPs and/or their
staff to advocate on issues of Middle East justice in Canadian Foreign Policy.
In addition to delegation days to Ottawa, advocacy efforts are undertaken throughout the year, locally at MPs riding offices across Canada.
CJPME Empowers all Canadians to Advocate
With its focus on grassroots and on community empowerment, CJPME has established a path for interested Canadians to become
advocates for Justice issues in our Middle-eastern Foreign Policy.
Advocating as CJPME, and/or with CJPME advocacy material is a privilege, not a right, and CJPME consequently guides and supervises individuals working with the CJPME team.
CJPME’s training and coaching path for Political Advocacy helps individuals understand the subject matter and methods necessary for advocacy success. Our training path is described below:
- CJPME membership and access to our advocacy and training materials material.
- Half-day training seminar, with hands-on role-playing and rehearsals.
- Approval by trainer for participation in CJPME advocacy work.
- Participation as an Observer in an actual advocacy meeting with and MP. Advocay is always done in teams of two or more individuals.
- More active participation in advocacy initiatives.
- Ongoing review and evaluation of the individuals contribution to CJPME advocacy work.
I want to advocate with MPs – what do I do next?
Start the process: come to the next CJPME meeting, talk with us, and join the Policy Advocacy Task
